About Me
Welcome!
I’m Bethan, an allotment gardener, avid home cook and sewing enthusiast living in the beautiful English countryside. I took on a small allotment plot 3 years ago in an aim to grow more organic food for my family and create a garden that is both productive and beautiful. Over the years I have learnt so much about the benefits of avoiding the lined monoculture garden plots that are commonly seen in English allotments. Instead I combine a landscape of mixed vegetables and flowers that benefit both one another and my kitchen. I have found this approach to be far more beautiful whilst also transforming the way the allotment works for me and my family. Polyculture gardening ensures far less hours weeding and delivers a higher variety of vegetables and flowers to enjoy from a small space.
“I love my garden, and I love working in it. To potter with green growing things, watching each day to see the dear, new sprouts come up, is like taking a hand in creation, I think. Just now my garden is like faith – the substance of things hoped for.” Anne in “Anne’s House of Dreams” by L.M.Montgomery.
Join me and cultivate your own beautiful growing space, whip up some delicious food and try an embroidery project the garden has inspired.
